Mr. Zwahr has searched for door panels for the doors with holes. He reported that he could only locate 8” panels which were inadequate for the job. Bobby has spoken with Needville Tin Shop about stainless steel plates for the (3) doors which would be large enough to cover the holes. He is in the process of securing a bid from them. Mr. Zwahr also conveyed that he had met with Jerry of Precision Roofing and together they had found (2) leaks in the roof and will have them fixed. They also discovered that the floor in the ceiling was sagging where it was cut for the A/C and needs to be repaired.
Clocks for the classrooms were priced @ $3.99 each and it was agreed to purchase them. It was the consensus to replace the broken lighting above the Lord’s Supper embroidery with track lighting.
Worship: The committee met and is securing people for advent season. They are asking for help on November 22nd to get the greens ready and will hang them on November 29th. The Youth Christmas Program will be held on December 13th.

Brotherhood: Discussed the Christmas meeting and the possibility of hosting a steak dinner in January.

If I were the creator of words and my task was to thank all of you for your gifts, thoughts, words of encouragement, prayers for all of the wonderful things you have done, I could not put into words what you mean to us and the gratitude my wife Marilyn and I feel. In times like these you really learn who your friends are and who’s walking with their hand in God’s hand. May God bless each and every one of you. If you ever need me, I’m just a phone call away. Again, thanks for your love and kindness. I love you always.
From Don and Marilyn Dillard

Christmas Program:
Coming up quickly (December 13th) will be the Christmas program mainly put on by the younger youth, but in order to complete the play we must have 4 “cool” teenagers (or if you’re not cool just act like it) for this show. This means YOU! Please let me or Victoria Schultz know as quickly as possible if you are willing to do this.
Shay’s Sharings:
It’s rare that I get to just chat on this page since it’s usually full of things we’re “doing” and not what I want to share from my heart. With that said, I enjoy every minute with “my” kids on Wednesday’s (yes, even when you throw flubber all over the church, (but a little less than most of the time)). As the years pass it’s sad to see some of you go and yet it’s exciting to get the new group in. I like that you don’t all leave at the same time, but the 3 classes that move up help ground the freshmen and they also comfort me while dealing with the “loss” of our previous seniors. I know this is the middle of the school year and I don’t have to deal with this for about 5 months, but it makes me thankful for great souls like the youth of Immanuel. Without even knowing it you make my day better and I get a charge from seeing you grow and mature. All of you contribute to the life of this church. What I want to know is…are you contributing your best, your all, the real you,…or the leftovers? Do you get refueled on Wednesdays and Sundays? I know I do! Even when I’m running on fumes there is just something so electric about being with a bunch of rowdy kids that are full of life and even at times on fire for Christ in a real and tangible way. One of those ways is when we make the food baskets at a neighboring church. It’s hands-on and in-action love. We enjoy it every year. It’s magical. It’s Jesus! Afterwards we always have our Christmas party. Bring one wrapped gift that doesn’t cost anything (not food) and let’s celebrate. Don’t lose site of the real reason for the season and I’ll see you in church or youth, or hey…how about both?
December Birthday Blessings to:
John Bosse (7th), Haley Elliston, sweet 16 (29th), and Alli Eversole (30th). An extra special shoutout to Alli – this is her EIGHTEENTH birthday…woohoo!
